ALL THE LEGAL STUFF

 Wow. I never fully understood how much goes into making and running a business. To be honest, I kinda miss my days of just selling lemonade and not having to fill out different forms for taxes and licenses. However, so much more of a profit can be made when doing these things and running a successful business. 

The big thing I learned this week was to research and understand what type of business you're running so that you know exactly all of the legal stuff you need to do in order to be in compliance with where you live. It is important to follow the law and to be respectful to the different regulations set by the government. Part of this is paying taxes and obtaining any special licenses needed, if any. Thankfully, there are a bountiful of resources online for all of us to read so we can learn more about what is required with starting a business. 

I'm a little overwhelmed right now and I feel like most of this stuff is going over my head because it all is so new and foreign to me. But when you take thing step by step, the whole business process is a lot easier and more fun than you'd expect!

Ad Performance

 Alright so I have my business up and running. All of the legal work taken care of. The site is built and user friendly. My products are ready to be purchased. But now is the time to find the customers. I have spent quite a bit of time this week working on and adjusting my ads in order to perform the best they possibly can. Here are a few things that I've done thus far... I have worked on making my keywords, ads, and landing pages all connect.  I got rid of keywords that have no clicks and are showing little to no success (though it is early on in my campaign and most of my keywords don't have high numbers yet).  I am testing out multiple ads to see which ones are the most successful.  I check google ads and analytics regularly (usually daily) so I can see where I can improve and what is working well.  I know there is still so much more to do in order to optimize my ads performance. Apples and Oranges

Okay I'm going to be completely honest by saying that I had no idea there were soooo many decisions to be made when starting a business. I mean I understood there was a lot...I just didn't understand what A LOT actually meant! And with all of these decisions comes many options to choose from. So let's just say that if you're an indecisive person, this isn't your field of work!! Something we talked a lot about in class this week was wholesale distributors (basically person or company who sells stuff at a low price in large quantities to retailers). These are a vital part of starting not all but many online business and of course, there are many wholesale distributors out there! The important thing is not picking the best one out there because the internet tells you it's the best, but rather doing your own research and digging around to find the best one out there for YOU and YOUR product!
