I've always found business to be interesting. The idea of having control over what good or service to produce and sell that will benefit others always seemed...like fun! When I was little I used to set up lemonade and popcorn stands, sell my toys, bake and sell goodies and treats, and clean to earn money. In my little kid eyes, money equaled power and freedom. With my money, I could buy what I wanted. I could even go places and do activities with my friends regardless how much it costed. I loved not having to beg my parents for money just so I could do the things I wanted to do. This love and desire I had from a young age, that is to be successful in the business world, only blossomed as I grew older! I'm now studying business management marketing and hope to have my own my business someday. Nothing sounds more exciting than creating something out of almost nothing, using only my brain and skills.
This week in class, we studied a lot about different business models and methods when it came to picking what product or service to sell and how to start up a business. My eyes were opened to the business world and I finally understood that I actually knew almost nothing about how to successfully start and run a business!! But the best part is that studying this all in school is enjoyable and intriguing to me. For instance, I never knew there were different business models until this week and I honestly haven't stopped thinking about them! I look at different companies and businesses (small and large) and I try to figure out what model they are using. The one thing I've noticed is that regardless of the business model, you can be successful. The key is matching the right business model to the right product. Each person has different dreams and visions when they start a businesses. Knowing what these are beforehand and knowing what your expectations are, help to narrow down the selection of choices for a business model and makes committing to a particular product much easier.
I'm excited for the opportunity I have to start my own business online. I know that it'll be difficult and that lots of mistakes will be made. But what better time to learn than the present! The knowledge I gain here and now will give me the power in the future that I need to make my opportunities and possibilities infinite.
